Welcome to the CYB/CYS Website!

Cheshire Youth Baseball and Softball is a non-profit organization whose sole mission is to provide organized, instructional, recreational and competitive baseball and softball programs to Cheshire's youth. It is run entirely by volunteers at the Board of Directors, team manager and coaching levels. League players range from age  6 (T-Ball) through age 19 (American Legion).

The CYB/CYS Board of Directors wish our players and parents every success both on and off the field. We pledge our support as you enter into what we hope is a positive experience; for it is ultimately you, the managers, coaches and parents who will make our program successful and beneficial to Cheshire's youth and Cheshire's future.

Memorial Day Parade

Hold the date - 5/26/2019

Start Time 1:30pm

Meeting Location: Highland Green @ 12:30pm

We will be marching behind Girl Scouts/Brownies/Daisies

All ages are welcome Baseball And Softball (A, AA, AAA, Minors and Majors)

Please wear your team uniform, hat and comfortable shoes.

Depending on the weather, you may need. Lots of water and possibly rain gear.  Let’s hope for lots of sunshine.

Included is your unit’s assignment for the 2019 Memorial Day Parade scheduled for Sunday, May 26 at 1:30 p.m. There will be NO rain date this year.
Please note your Division number and where that Division is supposed to meet. All entrants must line up in order in their assigned divisions in the proper order. NO exceptions. Your Division Commander will assist in lining up entrants.
Have members of your unit plan to meet at approximately 12:30 p.m.
Please consider parking your vehicle at the end of the parade at either Cheshire High School or the Youth Center. There will be shuttle buses running before the parade to take people from the front of the high school to the start of the parade near the Police Station/Highland School. The shuttle will run from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. One shuttle bus is handicapped accessible. After that time, you are on your own – there are no shuttles running after the parade. No vehicles except veteran escorts are allowed to be dropped off or park in the Police Station lot. NO exceptions.
When you exit the high school after the parade, please use the Elmwood Drive exit at the south end of Cheshire High School’s main parking lot and not the main exit onto Route 10.
In case of inclement weather, please call the Parks & Recreation Department’s information hotline at (203) 250-2470, check the Cheshire website at www.cheshirect.org, or our Facebook page after 10:00 a.m.
Any group distributing candy - please do not throw the items into the crowd. This is an unsafe practice. Please hand out any giveaways.
When marching during the parade, please keep the gaps tight between the group in front of yours. Wide gaps slow the parade down.
No political posters or signs are allowed in the parade. This includes handouts, leaflets, etc.
All commercial vehicles in the parade should display a patriotic theme in honor of the veterans. This year’s theme is the 75th Anniversary of D-Day Landing in Normandy.
Any groups planning to stop in front of the review stand for a demonstration should keep their performance short.
It may be necessary to make changes to the marching orders after publication. If so, updated information can be found on our website at http://www.cheshirect.org/recreation-and-leisure/ under News.
For further information, please contact the Parks & Recreation Department at (203) 272-2743. Office hours are Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m-4:00 p.m.
